Aries was obviously doing a personal test to see if you can paste your stored password into the forum and did not imply that anyone else should do the same. He's constantly testing forum functionality in one way or another.

I feel this blacklisting was unwarranted and a poor judgement call on Kumog's behalf.

How was he obviously testing? His post was all asterisks, and your password isn't actually blocked out when you post it, so if it was just a test it would have had his password. He didn't even edit the post to say "Nope" so you know it was bad joke.

I dunno I wouldn't mind appealing to help him too just to be random but like... This is a really common thing on 4chan... and it's pretty evident he goes on 4chan....

he went to login, copied whatever was in the password field and pasted it to see if it posted the masked chars or the actual password.
