distance kayaked: 8 miles total confirmed miles to date: 868 I set out when the river was about 6 inches below the national weather service's designated flood stage, up about 15 feet from its usual depth following a storm that dumped 6-7 inches of rain on the area in less than 24 hours. The Sopchoppy River in this area is relatively contained (with steep banks along much of its length). As a result, the entire force of the river was directed down the river channel, and the entire trip upriver was a battle againt the rushing wall of water. Many times, I would find myself paddling as hard as I could and traveling less than 1mph upriver. Anyway, I didn't stop for many pictures. starting out same bridge, different angle I didn't make it all the way up to the next bridge, though I easily completed that section during my next trip. _________________________________________ ScouSin: Damn you Gaku! KingBlax: It's telling you to go outside, with no flash-light in the woods, and find a dead body, you eat dinner if you find 1. You die in the wilderness if you don't find 1 or at least bring something interesting back. ./personal_problem.sh -q > /dev/null 2>&1 & |
