lances face icon


so i resized something real quick...

lets examine this a little bit



by the way this is using the 16x16 chat bar icon.
the 32x32 would look even more similar to the original art of the nu mou.

and this isn't even taking into account the fact that lance is using magi's old icon with a few pixels changed.

no offense to the icon checkers but clearly something isnt right here.

While it does look similar and it does fit the image you posted, Lance redrew the entire face pixel by pixel to match the nu mou alchemist. I can verify this, and, in all technicality, it's allowed because he did create the face. He did use a base to redraw it from, yes, but it is custom-drawn, and therefore allowed.

I don't see how changing a few colors to make the icon look more solid is acceptable at all. even the 'cropped anime faces' of old weren't just straight rips, they were always altered slightly to look better in 16x16. this is the exact same situation.

cropped face, small fixups, instant acceptance.

In game he's been introducing himself as and pretending to be Magi too. I'd be pretty pissed if someone other than me was using my icon and claiming to be Rylar. And it would be justified.

Not all of us, not really. I have no major problems with the guy other than what I'd stated just above, I PvP him because it amuses me to do so (and I assume he'd take me out given the chance.)

I could give a crap less about the face state, not my job to be concerned over that nor is it any of my business where he gets it. When he starts impersonating a friend and getting away with it I do feel the need to comment.

I don't hate anyone's existence. I admire chaos and conflict, which this game needs more of if it's supposed to be an open PvP game. I would welcome the return of Blaxco, Deshawn, Deylin, or an number of others I've played the game with over the years who are willing to actually fight... whether it's with me or against me. I've considered trying to power level a fleet of ponies for ****'s sake.

In a way, I actually like Lance Fiialkov, but this impersonating Magi thing seems dishonorable to me. Even if the iconers or admins or Gaku don't care, I would hope he'd have enough integrity to get it changed himself.

Also I'm about ****ing blind so I'm taking it on Nabutso's word that the icon is the same.

Unfortunately there are no rules against trying to be someone you're not (even if it is annoying and stupid and lame and a scum bag thing to do [I could go on]). He can pretend to be Magi all he wants, but the thing is, if it bothers you that much then just don't associate yourself with that person. Cut comms with them and never speak with them. Sure it may be a bit childish, petty, or something a girl would do, but complaining won't help make it go away. If anything it could be making them want to do it more because of all the attention they are getting (even if it is negative attention).
