Really, thanks for ungimping melee classes with the WLC increase, Gaku. Mages are *** anyway.

However, some of us have done the math and, well, two-three months to wait for the WLC seems a bit much, especially when compared to the last several hostings which had the increased WLC speed boost thinger. That made those hostings bearable, and I believe doing something to hasten this hosting's WLC will keep the players who actually wanted this revert to happen from quitting as a result of just sitting in a domain waiting a week for that next levelup.

To solve this issue, I propose that one of the following changes be implemented for a more rapid WLC growth (or at least, one that isn't painfully slow) while also keeping people playing the game indefinitely and not having people just sitting around with their three capped alts doing nothing:

-Do what was implemented in the last few hostings where WLC days were "skipped" every FFO day (easiest solution, despite some issues)

-Bump the current WLC to 45 (PLC still exists to prevent lolpowerleveling so people won't be gods among the other players overnight)

-Readjust the prof cap equation to what it was at the start of the hosting, disallow profs to exceed 80, double WLC rate, and remove a hard WLC (this way, there won't be that point where capped players are just sitting in domains, but rather, they're still training and leveling up. On that note, the experience required to reach almost anything past level 40 will be more than enough so that people aren't powerleveling)

I'm all for any of these possibilities, and I'd like to see what the rest of the community thinks of them.

Also keep in mind that while waiting this whole time for the level cap to increase, some players will be running around with profs and spells they shouldn't have learned yet according to this prof formula while other players will be left at a disadvantage of not learning those until a month or so later.

I'm just gona say this straight. PLC does not prevent power leveling in any way shape or form. it goes up so quickly its already at lvl 30(ish) for my rw. I would agree with bumping the WLC up to 35(ish) or maybe increasing the WLC speed rate at which it goes up but I am highly against removing the level cap overall.

When no WLC is present players reach a point where they can simply 1 shot any other player in the game and I dont think that would be a good idea in this hosting. i think a WLC of 55 is more than enough and trust me its gona take you months to fully prof out to 77 on your skills.

This

seems contradicted by this because it would take months to even get the power to "oneshot" someone with a spell or skill.

On a side note, leveling up will add more than enough stat boosts in health, defense, and mres to where oneshotting is going to be highly unlikely without elemental gear in favor of the PKer. The ability to oneshot a person only goes down with levels. In addition, the prof cap, should someone actually reach it with multiple (or even one) spell(s), will prevent the spell from getting ludicrously overpowered.

I agree with everything except the nonexistent level cap. There needs to be some sort of limit.

I'm just gunna say that the Part of the revert agreement was that NOTHING is changed to the current version. NO updates.

reply to Magnus Sforzando:

That was the case. Then Gaku suddenly logged in and said he was making changes. This suggestion was to make one of those changes not so ridiculous.

Which is why we need a new vote.

Did Gaku even say anything about that anyway? All I remember was Deylin announcing it as if she had a say in it :x

It was part of the premise of the vote to revert.

I meant more along the lines of Gaku actually ever saying or posting "yeah, no more updates"

He never publicly posted about the revert either but we voted and it happened, part of the premise of the vote was that there would be no updates.

I thought there might be a logic check upon leveling up that would prevent players from having more profs than they were allowed for their level. Sadly that is not the case.

Perhaps a ppwipe will set things in order? It wouldn't remove abilities that people shouldn't have access to yet but have already learned, but it would at least ensure that the spells one does have aren't above the current proficiency cap. If it works.

It should keep your current experience, so you'd get the prof levels you'd already earned upon leveling up.

If it works it wouldn't require even a bit of coding on Gaku's part. If the admins all agreed to do it or something it could simply be done in game without even requiring a reboot.

I'd be willing to be a test subject to see if a ppwipe does anything. It would do a lot to try and make things more fair for players who didn't get the **** ton of early experience some of us (like myself) did.

Just throwing that idea out there anyway. See what people think.

reply to Rylar:

Admins can only P-Pwipe individual players, which would be a very inefficient way of doing this (having to type in each player's name one after another, possibly leaving some people out).

As far as I know, Gaku is the only one that can P-Pwipe the entire game.

Next time instead of pontificating the rules, just PM me a link to the offending thread. Or IM me if you've got my screen name on something.

Anyway, locked.

Just to clarify, saying that I wouldn't be updating was more for my benefit (not having to listen to people whine about new updates) than anyone else's (not a promise that no changes would ever be made).
