Custom icons may be uploaded onto your FFO playable character, assuming that the rules in this topic are followed. These icons offer much more depth and role-play experience for the game, as well as allow to you display your creativity and bring further enjoyment into the game. As this Byond game is based on Final Fantasy, you may choose to make your icon in a style that fits Final Fantasy as well, provided it follows these other rules (as this is a medieval setting, modern/futuristic leather outfits and gunblades won't be acceptable, and your icon must fit the role of a playable character, being able to eat/drink/sleep and wear/wield armors and weapons).

Remember that you may always hire others to make a custom icon for yourself (usually compensating them with gold, items, or precious hugs). But whether you make your own icon or hire someone with experience to do the work, your icon must be approved by the icon checkers in the game. They will tell you what's wrong with it if errors are found and may even aid you in making corrections (remember though, they aren't obliged to as they have lives of their own and you should not bug them to fix your icon).

Edit: As a reminder, icon checkers can forbid a player from having their icon checked if the player is constantly bugging them over and over and/or asking/demanding the icon checker constantly fix their icon for them. These people are doing a great service for the game, if you make their lives Hell they can refuse helping you for a period of time (two weeks at most) or even remove a custom icon for a certain amount of time if it gets the point across. If for some reason the situation becomes grossly out of control, an admin may even ban you for it. Be reasonable.

The most important thing is to make sure your custom icon represents how you wish to be viewed by others and want to view yourself. Take pride in your custom icons, it can change the way you play the game completely!


General Rules







Rule 3: Icons that relate to any TV show/series, Manga series, or any copyrighted material, in any state of the icon or as a whole, are entirely prohibited.

The exception to this is basing an icon off of the material and style of content found in Final Fantasy Online the game.

You may have your character equipped with any clothing, armor, and weapons that has been made for this game, but still cannot base them off actual Final Fantasy characters.

This does not include custom icons on Player Characters found in the game.
