Firewall Exploiting, Running into fires repeatedly.

Apparently it's acceptable, even though Blax has now gone into -1000% due to fires being used against him.

It's pretty unreasonable to say "Just put them out" when said fires are near a domain full of people that can kill you and make you drop literally every item you have.

But basically, I want to hear another admin other than Darlute's view on this as currently using fire will mess up your day even if you win.

Lunia ran into the same fire five times which was obviously not a mistake and was intentionally abusing the system to make sure the other person ( Blax in this case ) unable to do anything other than afk for hours in an inn which even then could result in him losing all his items through people breaking down doors and killing him which is more common than it should be.

It's pretty much griefing and exploiting the game in my opinion, the whole idea of percentages is to stop spam killing, if you're going out of your way to die because you know that the system will count the death as the enemy's kill and lower their % to the point they'll lose all their unegraved items, you're not just playing dirty, you're abusing percentages. It's not a joke when someone can lose items that took them months to obtain and this should be dealt with more seriously.

As mentioned before, you can't simply put fires out in a conflict. That'd result in death and loss of items, especially with the firewall spell generating as much fire as it does. But you were being lifed and clicking yes knowing full well that you'd die repeatedly, you did it at least five times but more like six or seven.

I don't really see how you can say you didn't know it'd happen. Especially when someone could of put out the fire that was killing you repeatedly, I'm pretty sure GH has a well or at the very least someone could have soaked up the fire or casted water, ice or earth on it. The fact is you were trying to lower Blax's percentage and pretending that wasn't what you were trying to do. You're debatably even raising your percentage at the same time and manipulating the system there also.

So do Ice, Ice 2, Ice 3, Water, Water 2, Water 3, Earth, Earth 2, and Earth 3 not exist anymore?

They do, but I'd like to see anyone actually try to put all the fires out they made in PvP with it still ongoing. Do it. You'll get berserked/muted/slept/confused/feared/charged by some op knight with a blight sword or a combination of the above.

But putting fires out aside, it's still abusing the system to purposefully kill yourself and lower someone's %, you can't act like it's a legit strategy, the percentage system is supposed to stop spam killing not encourage people to spam kill themselves in order to grief people.

I mentioned this back when turf fires were super strong (100 ticks in nb) and was told too bad. I'd let this one go Nerserus.

Seems just as legitimate as luring dragons to wipe out armies xO!

If you have the time in the first place to make the fire, you have the time to put out the fire. If you ignore the fire, then you've put yourself at risk.

What, put yourself at risk of percentage abuse? Also, I don't see how luring dragons (Which gaku said was a legit tactic) and making someone lose potentially all their gear through fire wall hopping are the same thing at all.

My point is that they are both "dirty" tactics.

Again, if you don't want to put yourself at risk, don't leave fires around. How hard is it to put out your own fires? Don't all of you guys have Ice/Fire anyway?

I'm going to be straight up here and say, even though I dislike ners because he is uber whiny and such a pompous ass, I'm with him on this subject, not everyone likes to use ice earth water elements, and shouldn't be forced to in order to avoid getting percentage ****ed bcause of some jerks doing it on purpose

Momo, this already won the topic imo, you chose to keep lifing in the fires just to give black percentages

And in a conflict putting out fires isn't logical because it will take up your mana and time

This post here already /topic'd

One is underhanded and one is exploiting the way the game works. Luring dragons to attack a domain is one thing, but making someone lose all their items the next time they die through dying to them on purpose when the fire starter wasn't even there is alot more than merely a ***** move. It's potentially game ruining and devolves PvP into dying so that the guy that beat you loses.

Also, you can't put out fires when statused either. I don't know what really lame pvp fights you're thinking about but generally you can't just walk around putting out fires in group warfare, you'd be lucky to even get the oppurtunity to do that. You may as well not even use fire ever in that case if one broad fire wall requires ice 3 three times or -1000% 4 u.

i actually agree with Nerserus on this one, because if they wanted to not die, they would have put the fire out themselves, instead of constantly getting lifed into death. but i believe the whole percent system is a load of **** itself and needs to get tweaked abit.

If percentages wouldn't be added until after spawning instead of upon immediate death, that wouldn't be a problem.

When I brought this up actually my problem was the fact that someone saw the fire as it popped up. I couldn't necessarily put it out because my ice would've just killed him anyways.

Why exactly do percentages add up without "actually" dying in the first place? Sounds like careless programming to me. That doesn't benefit anyone but people that find ways to exploit it.

Ultimately, it's pretty stupid to say you need to put fires out in pvp as you're SUPPOSED to use fires in PvP. If a fire wall, which is meant to kill people who walk into them, can't be used for that exact same reason, then there is no point in the spell at all.

If you can state that fires need to be put out by the starter else they could amount ridiculous things such as 100 cube deaths or -1000% then there is no point ever going near fire as even if you used it in siege a vengeful domain can do a lemming rush of death at the nearest burning building once siege has broken and commit suicide until a man is punished by a spam killing prevention system when ironically he's not even doing anything.

I don't see why it's so hard to accept that someone abusing a fire is in the wrong, the goal of FFO PvP shouldn't be to die on purpose to win.

Mmmm.. this brings back memories of when Gohu and Sajai decided to troll Gaku's alt and one shotted him with firewall; causing 1k dmg ticks. LMAO!....

They got banned after that. XD

Firewall use to be FAR more broken back then compared to now.

Tl;dr source issue not the target of topic.

And really? I remember back in the Level 20 hosting the crew I participated in put out every single turf fire ever forever always and it never hindered us from attacking.

And we weren't even some of the best, let's face it.

Turf fires have consequences for their power. Firewall is a spell that creates turf fires. Going in without some form of defence against said consequences is a lack of foresight.
