New Updates to PLC

There's a few issues with the new updates to the PLC raising. While I like what it's intended to do, I've heard people complaining about how annoying and in-the-way it can be, and while mathematically speaking it results in the same amount of training, there's a very big flaw that I just noticed with it:

The need to stay online and play actively 24/7 to 'catch up' to the WLC.

Take, for example, someone who is Level 20 and the World Level Cap is 38. The fastest way for that Level 20 to catch up is to train in extremely short bursts, enough to obtain the very next level, then wait. Their level cap will not raise unless they are at the highest level their PLC allows. This results in having to stay online all the time just like before, but instead of before where all the training is handled at one time, the player has to come back to the game every few hours or so, train a bit for the level up, then go AFK again.

Not all of us are interested or are capable of doing that, though. Other arrangements can get in the way of this, and there's no point in staying online and Idling for long if there's not really going to be a benefit to it. Some people will only have a specific few hours of the day to train, which with how the PLC works now can mean as little as one level per day even for players that put in multiple hours a day, and worse for someone that doesn't play on a daily basis.

And to compete with that, the WLC raises like once a day now, too.

I'm not sure if there's intended to be a similar Level Cap system in Terulia, but if so, there's definite issues with the system right now that should be resolved. I made this topic in the Discussion subforum because I don't really have anything to suggest regarding the matter (yet), but rather would like to hear some opinions on the current system.

could make it so that when ever the timer for your plc goes up, you level up if you've already met the requiements, simple as that.

That's definitely a better solution than what I was thinking. It's always felt a bit clunky in my opinion to have to gain another prof just to level up when one already meets all the requirements.

So basically, it'll be exactly like when it was "bugged" but two times faster. Okay.

Not necessarily. You'll only obtain level-ups if you meet the other requirements i.e. profs. If you haven't, then your PLC will still freeze. This is sort of the opposite of before, where people would AFK for PLC first then Train for Level-ups later. Now the AFKing comes after the Training.

Which I suppose is slightly more preferable.

Except the progress bar is permanently 100% unless you suck at the game. Thus always leveling up to PLC, thus the same as before but twice as fast.

It's been difficult to either prove or disprove this since most everyone has been insanely overproffed and humping the Level Cap anyway. This new update makes it only more apparent as you have all this extra time to remain overproffed as hell.

And the issue with that would be the prof-per-level formula, not the PLC.

The biggest concern I have with this is people easily idling their quest alts after about an hour of training so that they can automatically level up to the required level for Garland.

If this idea was used with the exception of levels below 25, I can see it working out fine.
