FFO both old and new version servers both dead

noone is playing

the new verion is sucky with the allowance

the old version is buggy crashy and tied down by a crash code

right now 2 ppl on the new version 1 on the old online

considering the bulk of the players from the "official" server went to the rogue server and abandoned the official, i would say it did directly affect the popularity of the official, even if it doesnt get new players anyway

I'd like to point out that the -reason- many players abandoned the new system and went to the rogue server isn't because terulia's awesome and we're all blinded to logic; it's because the new version blows, and the game's creator is blind to the suggestions and complaints lodged, dismissing it as mere whining. The reason the rogue server doesn't have any active players is because of the crash code.


If people move from one thing to the next, the correct thing to do is observe what's pushing players away from object x and drawing them to object y

Funny, because the game got to where it is now because the game's creator did listen to suggestions and complaints lodged on past hostings with issues that now seem "perfect".

The fact is that FFO just didn't age well enough to last more than a handful of years and no amount of hacking and changing numbers will fix it. It sucked with a low level cap. It sucked with no level cap. It sucked with a standard level cap. At this point, I think we can safely assume that the issue does not lie in the numbers or mechanics of the game, but just that the game has not aged well enough.

I'm personally grateful that Gaku put up with us for as long as he did and at least attempted to cater to us despite FFO being dead for at least a few years now.
