I opened up the Terulia forums today and started looking at my thread only to notice my name changed from Nolynn Hitler to Deylin. I had no notifications in my inbox that my name had to be changed and I even looked through the updated 4-28 ToS to see if having Hitler in my name was breaking a rule and that's why it was changed. From what I read it wasn't.

I don't know what exactly happened, but I don't want it to happen again.

It seems most likely regarded as libelous information.

Dead Hitler is rolling over in his grave from being called a female.

But in all reality, it counts as user harassment.

Hitler is a common family name with a negative stigma attached to it. Nothing more, nothing less.

If that name is removed then where is the line drawn? I could find any number of names offensive for any number of reasons.

Unless the username is blatantly harassing someone, e.g. I KILL JEWS, DIRTY JEW RATS, etc.

reply to Deanbecca Black:

At the same time we choose to moderate against '******' when it's just a crude mutation of 'negro'. Or at least, that's what Texas taught me.

While I personally try and view the positive things that Hitler brought through his negative influences, most people will primarily consider that he was the influencing factor behind the death of millions of jews.

The forums nickname force-rename was done by Gakumerasara.

His forum, his decision. This would also be affected by this clause in the ToS:

Accounts may be suspended, banned, or deleted at any time for any reason by the Terulia forum staff.

Thank you for your time.

I've had that forum name for awhile. I don't see why it was just 'suddenly' a problem.

Whatever though.
