What exactly is Terulia going to be? | |||

Everybody's apparently just waiting around for Terulia to be ready, but how drastic of a change is it going to be from FFO as it is today? What should a player expect when he logs into it for the first time?
Someone logging into FFO for the first time would probably see Silas's message and find him, read the stuff and get his gear, and at some point see the little Quest button and figure out there's a small storyline to follow on the island. Then comes the inevitable trip to Argo and then some exploring to be done, and had the continents continued to get updated, I would assume that a player would have found other quests and stories until he reached the "end" of the game. If I understand correctly, domain wars and stuff started out as an experiment and became something to occupy people's in-game time while waiting for new content. (Not trying to fault anybody or anything; just seems to be the way things went) Anyway, I do know that Terulia is supposed to be focused on domain warfare, but what else will a player have to look forward to when he logs into the game? How will domain PVP differ from the way it is now? Will Terulia seem like a new game, or feel more like FFO with scenery and skill sets jumbled a bit? I'd like to give the game a try once it's ready and released, but part of me doesn't really know what kind of game it's going to be. _________________________________________ |

Ive been playing FFO again for about 5 or 6 weeks, coming off a 2 year hiatus, and I am just now figuring out that Terulia is going to be a completely different game from FFO. Can someone post a topic explaining what it is and how it will be different and maybe some screenshots? I am very curious. I also would like to know what will then happen to FFO. Will it end? Should I bother investing any more time in what I happen to think is a very enjoyable game that holds alot of nostalgia for me?

Oh, don't worry. Terulia's still probably a solid ways away; if that's not enough to convince you to just enjoy FFO while it's still around, Terulia actually uses a lot of the core FFO engine, including many of the skills - the primary difference being the separation of classes into mix-and-match Jobs. While not every skill would be transferred over, clearly, there's a lot of fine-tuning to just the average FFO gameplay that can roughly transfer to Terulia. The main things about Terulia is that it steps away from the Final Fantasy name and removes the overall genericness of each player. In FFO, for example, each Knight, Ninja, and Master learn all of the same skills, and each Wizard is only as custom as two of six elements. Terulia has (last I knew of) 10 jobs which can be mixed up to create 90 character possibilities and just under 300 different skill trees. This subforum [clicky] has a lot of Terulia specific stuff, though it has not been updated recently. _________________________________________ SMUG.MOMENTAI
