Recently, the forums have been nearly flooded with topics regarding bans and admins. Most of our acting admins have almost completely quit the game, and do very little, all of which is called out on being biased, unfair, or wrong.

I believe I would make a much better moderator than those that are currently in charge.

I nominate myself for a position because I have had much past experience in moderation, including moderating various forums such as the now-down Team-health and the BYOND game Final Fantasy: The Hunting Grounds, as well as having been in charge of moderation on multiple servers of Mystic Journey.

I also know the rules of FFO very well, and have never been reprimanded my entire time of playing. I actively talk to people regardless of sides on a war, and have often taken stances of neutrality outside of siege mode.

I feel I would be able to take the least biased stance as compared to our current admins.

i have known shane quite a long time and he has been neutral outside of siege, he is even one of my buddies, despite him siding with my enemy

and i can attest to him helping moderate for Final Fantasy: The Hunting Grounds

That aside, rotating the admin team isn't a terrible idea, it keeps people from crying bias all the time. On top of that a review and revision of the rules (if necessary) would help cut down some double talk I think.

However I'm really wary of self-nominations. As these admins were nominated and voted on (i think?) I'd rather leave them in place. A lot of complaining doesn't necessarily mean a bad job is being done, still the complaining I've noticed has been from biased parties.

Voting no for lack of discernable necessity.

Maybe I need to get into this war for better perspective.

The only active admin i see is Jeebs, would be cool to see more active admins.

What are you going to do differently than the current admins? What will you do to improve administration? "Being active" is all well and good, but what sets you aside from any other active player? What will you actually do, past experience aside?

The first thing I would want to do is push for a revamp of the rules to both be more clear and concise in certain situations, but also to be more eloquently placed when compared to how FFO currently plays.

I would make it clear to the community that rules are not meant to be put in place for players to think, "How not to get banned," but rather, "How not to grief." I would take an active stance in talking to both sides when a situation occurs, and will, of all things, make certain actions public to the community so as to allow a more proper system for appeals.

Also, I will not use admin powers to get into Gaku's pants. I promise.

I would agree for shane to be an admin. While its true most the current admins arnt active and some dont even play ffo anymore or even look at it. it would be good to get an admin whod be here and knows whats going on.

my only question would be. do you actually know how to admin? ie. have you used admin verbs before and issued bans and such on other games or would someone need to teach you?

That stuff takes five minutes to learn, and Shane's pretty smart, so I'm sure he'll have no trouble learning. Besides, the accidental mischannel on Asay every now and then just makes things more fun.

reply to Shane: Well, I'm glad you have some plan in mind, aside from just wanting to be an admin because you think you'd be good for it. I don't see any reason not to give you a shot, though of course its not my decision.
