ok so i have 2 weapons a perfect wooden nunchuck which cost me like 5k or so to make perfect and a perfect light spiked nunchuk which cost me about 150k-200k to make perfect.
with the wooden chuck i deal about 70-85 damage roughly. with the spiked chuck i deal about 75-95 and these monsters arent resistant to light i had them scanned they actually slightly weak to it a spike is 2 tiers higher then a wooden yet the damage difference is almost non existant is there something im missing here? i sat there and killed alot of things to test this and never really saw much improvement on the spiked chuk over the wooden chuck hell i had to wait till it was masterwork quality before its damage equaled the wooden chuck so considering the cost difference unless i have a ton of extra gold to throw around i dont see an advantage to going for tier 2 or even tier 3 anytime soon or is this something with nunchuks? my melee is capped at 30 right now and im level 9 BB _________________________________________ |

Okay, so the Spiked Light-Nunchuck is Perfect? I am just making sure, because I am slightly confused by how you worded that sentence. with the wooden chuck i deal about 70-85 damage roughly. with the spiked chuck i deal about 75-95 and these monsters arent resistant to light i had them scanned they actually slightly weak to it 1. Are the Wooden Nunchucks non-elemental? 2. The thing about higher-tiered weapons is that they don't necessarily do immediately more damage than lower-tiered weapons, but they have far more potential. a spike is 2 tiers higher then a wooden yet the damage difference is almost non existant is there something im missing here? It seems to me that the issue here is probably your Melee proficiency. From the first prof you can use a weapon, you do not actually get the full effects of a weapon. Last I checked, you still get proffing bonuses directly from the weapon until 10 profs after you can first use it. Further down you stated your Melee prof is at 30. While I do not fully remember, I know for certain you are not getting the full bonus from the Spiked Nunchuck. I am fairly sure that the full bonus will be attained at prof 38, but do not quote me on that one, since the only Nunchuck profs I know are Wooden at 5 and Ancient at 50. i sat there and killed alot of things to test this and never really saw much improvement on the spiked chuk over the wooden chuck hell i had to wait till it was masterwork quality before its damage equaled the wooden chuck Like I said, you get proffing bonuses. You have not reached the full "potential" of the Spiked Nunchuck yet, but you are already using Wooden Nunchucks to their max. This is in no way accurate to how the system works, but think of it as you are using the Woodens at 100% effeciency - the only way you will get more damage from them is raw strength increases. However, you are using the Spiked at more like 60% efficiency. I would not be surprised if by the time you finish proffing Melee then it will be hitting around 150s easy. Another thing to take into account is quality - after Standard quality, upgrading items makes them *almost* exponentially better. It is so crazy, that a top-tier weapon with a mid-tier element will see a 30 damage boost from Grand to Masterwork. so considering the cost difference unless i have a ton of extra gold to throw around i dont see an advantage to going for tier 2 or even tier 3 anytime soon I am slightly curious where you got that much gold as a Level 9 Black Belt, but other than that, good job. Like I said, the issue is that you are not using the Spiked to the full potential. Level up a couple times then get Melee to the mid 30s, then compare the damages. The Spiked should be far better at that point. However, I would suggest for another Spiked Nunchuck you really look for a Cheetah, and equip it as your primary 'chuck. Good luck. :) _________________________________________ SMUG.MOMENTAI

While it only occurs at night, you should be wary either way. People will probably be trying to get you to join their own side, and to be honest, either way you go you will probably not get immense training parties going any time soon. _________________________________________ SMUG.MOMENTAI
