FFO coolness jumped ~20% following the June 27th update.

Double striking with a blight hand axe is somewhat fun.

Though the idea of having only champs and bosses drop rare gear is kinda cool, and makes things rarer as well as distributes much more of a power balance among players in the game, I still feel that running dungeons was one of the main attractions of essentially all the people I knew. Aside quests, there's pretty much no incentive to even bother with dungeons.
Though Perma chests may mess up the power balance in the game a bit, in that sense there was still a sense of balance. It was a great idea and I really hope it returns someday. I love FFO and all, but I simply have nothing to do on the game now as my main thing I did was run around pillaging dungeons of Permas for change. Even if the quality of the contained items falls a bit, Permas should be considered to be restored. The game simply isn't the same without them. _________________________________________ |

Yes I also agree on restoring perma chests as well, that Elias person or whatever doesn't even play since they were removed. Also I would suggest that high tier mage armor like arch wizard add the magic damage of like an apprentice staff, mage armor current does absolutely nothing for wizards but add mres I also suggest that arch wiz defence be like that of chain armor with the other tiers of mage gear following respectively.

Permas are ****. They always were ****. People who only log on to run through perma chests aren't embracing the actual game at all, and someone quitting the game because they cant spend all their FFO time hoarding stupid items out of stupid permachests is just an idiot who's better off not playing.
The game economy is much better off without them, since gold is a valuable trading commodity as it should be. The improved shops and drops we've gotten to compensate for them are a great addition that make killing **** more worthwhile even now on the new leveling system, and make shops much less of a pointless waste of time. Their removal reduces the incidence of people just rushing through map after map without ever managing the monster population and hence making travel in certain areas a painful chore. Their removal makes caves finally places worthwhile to train in because the same five ****heads are no longer stomping over them to grab a bunch of treasure chests, and picking a fight with any other traveler they see. Gold and items take real effort and real gameplay to acquire now, instead of "I log in once a day at my set time to run through and hoard a bunch of free items just laying around". Permas were always intended to be a cool enjoyable reward to stumble across while adventuring hard to be a radical super saiyajin one day. Instead they became a problematic point of fixation and their removal has left FFO a much better balanced game. So, you guys are ****ing idiots. Go cry moar elsewhere. _________________________________________ Keepin on peepin!

Wow, no offense but the way you said that sounded like you just were QQ'ing about certain people you knew. I actually never ran into those problems myself, and I ran like every dungeon available on Banion. If the monster population was low, if you waited for like an hour they were back. It really wasn't that big of a deal.
The economy system, no matter how it is set up, will be balanced because whatever specific advantages and disadvantages will be put down will be put on all players that participate. How can an economy be unbalanced if people are given the same leverage? There are plenty of fine players who participated in everything FFO has to offer, but also liked to run dungeons because it was fun to do. Now, as I said, dungeons are kinda meaningless. Especially with prof levels, it seems as though there really isn't even a valid reason to hunt stronger things anyway. The consistent grinding 24/7 grinding of monsters actually isn't as fun as you'd think it is. It is nice to have a variety of things to do simply because the same old **** gets boring. _________________________________________ |

I do agree with this but the perma-chests were problematic. This is why I suggested monster drop increases, etc. This still gives incentive to fight in tougher areas since the drops will be better, therefore making you more money. Perma-running was cool but the way it was being done wasn't. Maybe if someone can come up with a better system for permas like player-unique chests that appear once every so often (e.g., x amount of chests in random places in the game every 24 real life hours). This would take away the competitive aspect of treasure hunting but also keeps the same handful of jews from jewing all that is available. Before you had guys like Rhys, aka Momoko, who would run around every few hours in real life when the permas were nice and ripe, not fighting any monsters, and just grab all the chests. This includes the chests that are on newbie island which by the way totally screws over the newbies. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

Probably a terrible suggestion but what if people had a daily perma chest limit? Like they could only harvest so many per irl day? Seems like a good suggestion to me. If you want it taken seriously I'd suggest posting in Terulia Forum Service Main under Suggestions. _________________________________________ "Take this shipment of supplies to Gillian, and try not to murder anyone's parents along the way, alright?"

I'd rather it be where how easily blind is remedied is based on blind prof vs lamp prof/eye drops. I've suggested this several times in the past. The problem is that is essentially means you have 3 fully functional status spells as a bw.

I might be biased but I still say blind should work something with eyedrops and lamp like poison does when cured with pure/antidotes.

I like the idea and have suggested it for a long time but unless there's a cool-down added for status spells it'd give BWs too big of a disabling arsenal.
