Your reason for not enforcing the rules doesn't matter. The fact that you're not enforcing them does. If you want to be a guido or advice-broski and not have people get butthurt about you punishing them then go be a guide. If you're going to be an admin you have a duty to uphold the rules regardless of how salty it makes people. When people report violations to you, you're supposed to do something about it. It's pretty simple. Your not wrong in that whole post except for there. Your supposed to "look into it" not necessarily "do something about it". You can't be taking peoples word. When I got banned an Admin at least contacted me and asked my side of the story, told me the evidence against me, we kinda talked it out and they decided that I had a lesson to learn. A complaint and a pic (which is super easy to edit by the way...) can't be all you make bans on. And I'm not talking about that silly trial system we had when people literally had trials in the game. I'm talking actual administrating where both sides got a chance rather than one side sending a screenshot and complaint. And obviously I don't know that thats how bans were decided but if you'd been transparent in your punishment the way Gaku was when he actually punished people then I wouldn't have to guess at it from what i've heard. Which is sort of the point here. EDIT: And I'm not saying this ban is wrong or that I disagree with it, cause I obviously have no idea of the situation. Personally, all the parties involved have been on this game enough to understand what's going on. Reap knows the rules and should know how to avoid a ban. But on the other side Tyr's pvp'd enough to know how to not get spam killed and should know enough to not carry godly gear unengraved while fighting so that he doesn't have to get his friends beat up. _________________________________________ Haze wrote:

"Doing something" includes investigation. I never issues bans without evidence.

Fair enough.
A bit of perspective though: Us accepting that you had solid evidence because you say so is the same as you banning because someone said there was definite rule breaking going on. You said you'll post evidence and be more transparent though so this needs no longer be harped on. Lessons learned, lets move on. _________________________________________ Haze wrote:

I'll take part of the blame right here. A few months ago when Sinsie brought up how all admin actions should be posted in it's appropriate forum topic I declined because I had faith and trust in Dean admin choices. We not have had a meeting yet discussing how to handle bans again but we will hopefully tonight.
With what Desh posted above. I've been sent many SS's countless times and I've investigated the situations. I don't ban because evidence is usually thin and or the circumstances could have been avoided. If I were to ban it usually is clearly stated to the community. Why? Well it's because bans are meant as a warning to the community that certain things will not be tolerated while playing. If it's not voiced then people will never learn. It's like how when Locke got ousted by the community when he was an admin a year or so ago. Even though he may have been doing his job as an admin he got the boot because of the way he handled the fallout when people got mad. Dean is a good guy he just has a bad rep and that's clearly his own doing. ----------------------------------------------------------- Sorry for being so off topic. As what Sinsie said, Reap is not banned anymore because the case will be reviewed by the entire admin team and not just some of us. Please be patient with us while we organize ourselves to serve the community better. Thank you. _________________________________________ |

Jeebs already said it but let's not do this here, guys. You got a top secret forum you can use, right? I think this topic is concluded and maybe could use a lock....
When you guys go to secret clubhouse please keep it civil, too. :s _________________________________________ A good player knows how to play his class. An elitist knows how to play everyone else's class.
