Wouldn't it be easier if we just turned chakra and mantra into the black belt versions of pray and meditate?

Except instead of affecting parties, they just affect the user alone and recover HP/MP/Stamina faster than Pray or Meditate can. And give them the same recoils as Pray and Meditate.

I don't see anyone abusing Meditate in-battle so I'm sure this would work fine but that's just me.

I'd like this post if Gaku didn't link it to Facebook.

I think changing Chakra to work like a self-pray would be nice - I would agree to this if it were made as powerful as before, if not more powerful.

If you don't want to see Chakra spammed mid-battle for an insta-cure, then just make it have some stupid *** cooldown. A lot of us used Chakra after-battle instead of using a potion becuase unless pressed for time it has no real tangible drawback. Even then without special gear it took quite a while to get health back.

Mantra, however, I think is still fine. I've poppped them off a lot for quick heals in some cases, but more often than not I choose to use Mantra to give other people mana.

Whatever works. My thinking is basically "being awesome meleers and being able to heal during combat, everyone will complain. Being able to restore your mind and body after a battle without using resources like everyone else? That sounds like a monk'ish warrior to me".

I like going for thematic feel and balancing out the PvP aspect more. Even if it's really good or "OP" outside of battle, I don't think people would complain as much or maybe even at about it since it then wouldn't intrude on other players' characters when fighting each other.

Just like red mages/wizards, only not as bad.

I'd hate to see mantra/chakra get any worse than they are now since the most recent nerf.

Even with the new update I still use chakra and mantra inside of battle. It really isnt worthless.

You just need more cure gear now, that's all.

We have two braces, a hat, an over-armor, shirt, gloves, shoes, pants.

Shirt and pants are usually out of the question for anything but Wolf or Tiger because element+suffix is either too rare to shopcamp for or too expensive to constantly use.

Shoes god forbid an element there, Speed is one of the most expensive tier-2 suffixes available.

At this point we're still in need of around two Wayfarers - maybe 3 if we wear Heavy gear.

That leaves one-two slots to **** around with, assuming we don't want to focus on a vine piece. Ideally we could drop our Wayfarers, but stamina drains way faster when compared to 3.0 and stat gains have been like constantly nerfed every version since 3.0, not to mention the skills themselves eat up stamina.

More cure gear isn't the most practical thing - at least, not yet.

That's a stupid idea, I want to guess that the skill is bugged when I've used it 500 times and not know that I was only 100 more times away from leveling it. Then rage quit.

Does anyone know/has anyone figured out how the cap on banked allowance is determined?

Mine currently seems to be at:

armor allowance: 495
ability allowance: 975
skill allowance: 495

I heard someone else mention theirs being at:
armor allowance: 500
ability allowance: 1000
skill allowance: 500

I've been training in different areas including Irendi, WT, and Vorgardia.

edit: mine is also at 500/1000/500 since you can only see the allowance when you deplete some of it.

I don't mind any of the recent changes so much, but it is missing one little detail that, to me, makes the game pretty much unplayable. Having to get hundreds of profs is kind of a big deal when you have no way of knowing whether or not the skill you are working on is maxed out.

I don't want to grind for hours without knowing whether or not I am making progress. I enjoy the game, I can deal with the new leveling system, I just can't deal with this minor detail.

Yeah, we definitely need a way to see;
- what prof level our skills are at
- when we're at the prof limit for a skill or ability at a given level
- perhaps some way of at least being hinted toward how close we are to reaching a new level in a prof, like the trainers used to give

Also given the way things work now maybe there could be a 'level up' button added somewhere to the hud or as a link when you click 'level cap' or something so you don't have to autolevel if you don't want to? especially now that being physically levelled past nb mobs makes them harder to level off and as a low-level mage for example you might not be ready for the later game by the time you've far outgrown nb mobs level-wise

He's talking about how we're not aware what level our proficiencies are at except when we gain a proficiency level.
