Adjunct Admins sound like a pretty good idea at this point, and I could honestly agree with having Po or maybe Deylin as one; then again, I think I could manage a position like that as well (before it is brought up, I know I haven't been on in a couple weeks; I had some end-of-term stuff to do, and after these next two weeks, as I will be working at a YMCA camp, I will be basically fully free).

I dont really understand what a position in in game politics has to do with making one a bad admin. It shouldn't cloud anyones judgment of right and wrong.

And for the record, My admin was removed because I tried to do the right thing.

Anyway, I wanted to just say it was mainly brought up because of the lack of active admins and how them being absent has caused problems and whining and moaning over it

and an even number of admins results in a possibility of ties in decissions, making an odd number would remove any way of ties, and it offers more of a diverse thought process when more are brought into discussion

On a side note, i'd do it if this idea is actually thought of in a serious manner

It's a natural temptation to support certain players over others.

The only truly possible way for there to be an unbiased admin for the game would be to have one that refuses to play in any shape or form, but only be on to watch and make sure rules are being enforced.

A player admin always runs the chance of bias. Doubly so if they're the head of any ingame clique.

Infinitely moreso if they've been busted for abusing mechanics in extreme fashion.

Just keep that in mind.

I think LP would make a good job as admin (again) or even adjunct, seeing as his knowledge of the admin role would help him better communicate with the higher ups. My suggestion of me being an adjunct is actually kind of serious. I play early mornings generally for about 4 or 5 hours, I don't have any aspirations for conquering domains (no more gold farming or bonuses) and only really care for blowing up domains as an act of revenge, and even then I'd much rather only use what my character has to display my raw badassery that so seldomly gets unleashed nowadays.

While I do indeed form with cliques the time i'm on generally doesn't coincide with the times they're on, while i still see a hefty amount of players when I'm on. I don't hold grudges (anyone who's tried to befriend me right after a pwipe has seen that), and I can generally be on whenever on the weekends, which is when ffo sees the most traffic anyway and when most of the bull**** happens, so an increased amount of watch on those times would be good as well.

I have been banned I think twice in my entirety of FFO, once was justified and I didn't fight the punishment, in fact, one admin had offered to turn a cheek and I told them to do their damn job. The other ban was unjustified (see the many cases of tyrael vs anyone that kills him), and even then, the I was only mad at the admin because he didn't do his job right. I'm very critical about punishments and I know the way cases need to be handled and I think it's important they're handed right.

Seriously, I nominate LP or myself for an adjunct admin position.

EDIT: Oh and the justified ban was at the start of 4.0 I accidentally spam killed a BW (I was tanking argo guards with tonfas while running around obliterating everyone in the party and most of them attacked me right after they respawned just not the bw and I didn't notice, I just kept rollin) upon being presented with the evidence, I accepted the ban because while I didn't -mean- to step outside of the bounds, I still did and Im pretty sure the black wizard was so deathsick at the time that I killed him in one hit (like half of my whole attack) so I felt bad for him.

In all honesty I'd just like to say that the current team of admins are diverse and balanced enough to fill the needs of the community at large.

I'll back what Dean said before. Most admin problems start from spamkilling and with the new changes to this problem mechanic wise there shouldn't be any real need to have additional admins.

What we still will handle is the appointment of guides, icon checkers, and rename. Remember Sinsie was an admin for 1+year with our current group and did not even log into the game. Yet he was still a great admin. One of the best.

Further: Smiffy can no longer become a citizen of or ruler of any other domain and must always spawn in Aldea!
