Thirst is also designed to stop mages from using their one-size-fits-all mana-guzzling spell for every single cast.

That's cool, but I still have this problem just using tier 1s. It'll just take longer.

I took my thirst meter down to half a few times last night, and sat and watch it regen while in OW, took roughly 4 minutes each time. Tripling this rate would certainly not break the game.

I think that's a great idea. Also, this would be the time to do it, since Terulia is next, and thirst will be in Terulia, so why not use FFO to test it out?
accidentally deleted your post, but yeah I agree, will update it tonight

It's to prevent pot chugging of any kind. I think I recall Gaku saying that mages shouldn't rely on magic alone anyway.

Seriously, I have no idea what you guys are doing to screw your thirst so bad. You must be chugging pots like they're going out of style.

I've partied all over the world, and even when soloing (where thirst affects you the worst) I haven't had much of a problem.

Stamina gear and not carrying more **** than you need to takes care of the need for Stamina potions.

Health pots come in handy, not really needed if you've got a healer. If you're soloing, that's a different story.

Mana pots keep you filled up and if you get a nice pace going, you can balance thirst.

Supplementing both hunger and thirst with food also works wonders.

Everyone who I've talked to that plays black mage has said they have the same problems I do, and some of them have played it longer than you've played FFO. I don't know what you do differently, but if you're the only one not having a problem then clearly there is a problem.

I'm not the only one who's not suffering from thirst problems.

Dean defending something the entire game is against and knows isn't balanced or fair.

Sorry I like pointing out the obvious.

He always does this. It was pretty much a given so I usually ignore him.

Get a Wraith bow and learn to alternate between buffing/nuking and restoring. You'd be surprised how well it can work.

I'm glad he read the topic so well, too. Its especially apparent that he glossed over these parts:

, I've found I can't even solo New Banian because after a few minutes of using ethers and potions (or even elixirs), I have to stop to rest. Thirst really interupts the flow of training in pve. I know FFO is a party game, but there isn't always a party avaliable.

Black wizard shoots at enemies with a wraith bow for little pieces of mana and switches back to staff for spells, spending a lot of precious battle time not blasting enemies. On top of that might have to use Hi-Potions on self during emergencies further diminishing thirst meter.

White wizard heals everyone + self and probably also throws light spells to blast enemies. He chugs an ether and is fine.

Red Wizard heals everyone + self and blasts enemies. Might also cast spells that both increase stamina and mana gain. He chugs an ether and is fine.

THIS IS CALLED BALANCE YOU WHINERS GET OVER IT at at at.

bawwwwwwww easy mode please gaku please

If anything should be fixed in FFO it's domain warfare, not your ability to solo easier.

I agree IGH and Sankora should be fixed.

(and it's not asking for easy mode if they want BW to be as easy as all the other classes already are -- it's balance)

Don't you have a black mage to be terrible at somewhere?

Of course you don't have thirst problems, you die too often PvPtroll failing for it to become an issue.

BWs have it twice as hard as WWs, and ten times harder than RWs. Would making thirst a little more ruthless really make BW "easy mode"? Yes, it would be considerably easier, but if all the other classes are so much simpler to play as, it isn't so bad to assume that you should make that one class easier. (or every other class harder, but that's just ridicorrrus.)
